In a recent report, research from Forrester states that one billion personal computers will be used by the end of 2008, it will take until 2015 in order to reach the two billion mark. What exactly does this mean? With technology dramatically changing over the last 20 years, computers have gone from low-grade, low-usages to high powered mean machines that make it possible for even a monkey to get the most out of their personal computer. Why would a monkey actually HAVE a personal computer? I don’t know, but if they did we know that Windows idiot proof programs could make anyone a computer genious.
Based on recent computer sales, PC’s are actually selling less than Mac’s at the moment. This is more than likely based on commercial promotion but at the same time, all new PC’s only seem to include Vista and there are so many faults with the program that by the time all of these flaws are fixed, Vista will more than likely be a completely different program.
I’m confident that WindowsXP will last me for quite some time. I’ve been using it for many years and have been lucky enough to have used almost every single version of windows since it’s launch of Windows 3.0 in 1990. I wasn’t quite old enough to use 1.0 and 2.0 but I do (strangely enough) still have working copies of them on older computers in my attick.
