I was lucky enough to be blessed with a virus today, and I have no idea where it came from!
I haven’t downloaded anything in over a month and my virus scanner is always running in the background. I haven’t received any email attachments and I don’t use any open-network programs like AIM or Yahoo Messenger, so I have no idea how this virus managed to get through.
So I turn to the hubby and ask him if he’s got any idea how it happened. Turns out the virus started on his computer and he ripped a DVD in hopes to save one of his favorite movies because he’d spilled something on the disk. In the process of ripping the disk, for some reason it stored on my external hard drive. Then I guess from there it bounced to my main hard drive while I was working on a website, and the rest is history. I guess I’m going to have to make sure to reset my virus scan so it protects that drive as well.
I originally assumed that it was going to protect everything from the get-go, I was wrong. There is an option with the program I use that allows you to cover multiple drives at once. It’s going to be a pain when I purchase that terabyte drive though – haha.
