My fiance and I are currently in the process of putting some money aside so we can purchase our own home. We figure that with our combined income we’ll be home owners, instead of renters, within the next year if we budget everything properly.
For me, an important aspect of the home isn’t how spacious the master suite is or even the kitchen for that matter. I know my saying that will be a shock to some people considering I spend quite a bit of time cooking, but Italians typically do that. While there are many things that I would love to have in my new home, a big one that’s going to happen regardless of budget will be large comfortable couch that you can just fall into and never wish to get out of. I would spend the money on luxurious designer upholstery fabric, there’s no doubt about that. My fiance wouldn’t appreciate it because he cares more about what electronics we’re going to have. While those are a big thing for me too, this doesn’t mean I can’t sit in comfort and enjoy them too.
