Show iPhone owners that you don’t have to shell out the cash to get your iTunes on your mobile.
Has iPhone envy struck you where it hurts? Listening to your iTunes library on your cell isn’t restricted to Apple’s all-in-wonder. NuTsie, a downloadable mobile application, lets you stream your iTunes library to PCs and cell phones. Rather than uploading your actual songs, nuTsie (the name is an anagram of “iTunes”) will analyze your library’s data and then match the song titles it has on its servers, making the service totally legal and free. However, your music is shuffled when streamed, which makes the service akin to personalized Internet radio options like Pandora.
NuTsie is available in its beta stage on 17 phones, with new handsets being announced often. Fortunately, it works on some of the most popular models, including the Moto Razr V3xx and the Samsung Sync. Here’s how to start your favorite tunes and playlists on your phone or any Web browser.
Stream Music to Any PC
1 Go to www.nutsie.com on the PC that has your iTunes library on it.
2 Click the “Register for an Account” button, and fill in your information including e-mail address, requested password, and mobile number. Click Step 2.
3 Upload your iTunes library metadata to nuTsie’s servers. To export your iTunes library metadata, open iTunes and click File, then Export library. Then save the library to a location on your computer. On the nuTsie website, click the Browse button and select the just-exported iTunes library. Click Upload
4 The time it takes to upload the data depends on your library’s size. Once your music collection’s information has been uploaded, you’ll be brought to the nuTsie Web player page. Your library’s songs will appear on the bottom half of the page, underneath the Web based player.
5 You can now enjoy your iTunes songs by logging into the nuTsie Web site (via Internet Explorer) from any computer.
