Around the house.

I’ve been doing some floating around ABC Distributing because of all of the housewares they have to offer.  I know it’s kind of low-quality stuff but when it comes to random necessary things – it’s worth it.  I’m definitely going to pick up the 25-Pc. Kitchen Towels because they come in numerous colors, I’m probably going to pick up the Taupe to mute things down around the house or the Moss to match the green/brown theme of the house.  Either way it’ll all blend together nicely.  I also found some really cute table accessories as well.  Sean is a pretty…more»

ePERKS

Before I found my home through Remax, I was doing a lot of surfing through many other Real Estate related websites.  The one that’s caught my eye for a while is ePERKS.  You get to learn a lot about the local Realtors in the area you’re interested in living in.  They list their statistics through the site, how many homes they’ve sold and what kind of cash back you can get on the homes that you buy.   I honestly never thought that houses came with a rebate but hey, if that’s just another perk that I have to learn down…more»

Rocking Away

I’ve decided that I want to have a nice rocking chair on my porch.  We may wind up adding a screened in porch to the side of the house later on down the road but from the get go there’s going to be some kind of a porch when you first walk up to the door and I’ve always loved the little ‘country’ look of having a nice rocker on the porch.  This, of course, depends on whether or not there’s going to be any room for it but I’m sure we’ll be able to have one somewhere. I don’t…more»

Window Treatments

We know from the get-go that the office is going to be kind of small so we’re taking a chance and going to knock the wall out completely.  This will then connect the office to the living room and should hopefully give us more space to move around, this way we aren’t sitting there feeling claustrophobic.  The problem with taking this wall out is the lack of privacy that either one of us would have while in the office, so while it will be opened up for quite some time, I have the bright idea of a hospital room sitting…more»

#include [beer.h]

The girl in me is giddy over the fact that I’ll be decorating an entire home, the geek in me has been floating around thinkgeek.com in hopes to find some really cool gadget or gizmo that I can have floating around the house to either annoy the crap out of Sean or bother the dog to no end. I don’t believe in torture, but you have to admit that having some little robotic thing floating around the room at any given time is pretty amusing, especially when you’re dealing with a dog that’s scared of a leaf falling off a…more»

Home Modification

There are going to be a lot of modifications coming up over the course of the next few weeks. We’ll be doing everything from knocking out a few walls to open the rooms up to garage conversions if there’s one even attached to this place.  I’m also looking into some new windows because lord knows how long the original ones have been there.  We know that recently the house went under some major reconstruction.  The pipes were moved around because they kept freezing so hopefully that has been resolved.  There’s the chance of new carpet, but my big thing was…more»

Samantha Who?

I was watching TV earlier after dinner and I came across a new show on ABC starring Christina Applegate named “Samantha Who?”.  When I first saw the show I thought it was going to be kind of sucky, until I started getting into it.  The main character, Samantha, is a psychiatrist who was in an accident and now suffers from amnesia.  She’s forced to relearn everything that she was in her life and she isn’t too happy to find out who she really is.  The first epsiode can be found on ABC.com I believe, if not I’m sure there’s a…more»

Surprised

Sean has officially surprised me.  In preparation for the move he’s starting to go through all of his things and junking the stuff that isn’t coming with us.  There are a lot of containers in the office that are filled with computer parts that he’s scrapped from computers he’s owned or have come across over the years.  There are components in there that aren’t even usable anymore, he’s just hording them.  There are 56K modems and old graphics cards that probably aren’t even compatible with the mother boards that are coming out now.  It may only be a start but…more»

LisaReviews.com

I like floating around new websites, mainly because I’ve been through my regular bookmarks too many times to count. So when I come across a new site that I feel has great potential, and is an even better read, naturally I’m going to come back a few more times to read up on everything going on in that persons life. I joined the Do Follow Blogroll a few months ago and since then I’ve been floating around many new and interesting websites. One of my newer favorites is lisareviews.com. She does a lot of product reviews, and I don’t think…more»

Moving along nicely.

After the mail came today I decided to call HSBC and ask what the hold up is.  I still hadn’t heard anything in regards to the loan and everyone I’d spoken to, before today, told me that in order to move forward with the loan I’m going to have to wait on it.  So I call up HSBC Corporate and after four people have my social security number, I’ve finally spoken to someone who actually knows what he’s doing.  He explained to me that the letter wasn’t printed until the eleventh, so that should show up in the mail within…more»
