I found something pretty interesting for those of you looking towards a new career. The thought of being a Flight Attendant seems pretty cool to me. You get to travel around the world and while you’re only real job is to serve and calm those on a plane, you’re still given the ability to go to hundreds of new places and see everything that the world has to offer. I didn’t know you could actually attend a flight attendant school but I also understand that having the skills and knowledge to get the job done safely is important. I’ve been floating around aha.edu where you can find out everything you know about a flight attendant career.
I have to say I’m unsure of whether or not I’d take a position like that. I’ve never been on a plane before, well at least for a trip that I was old enough to remember. When I was about two years old there was a huge family trip taken out to California and on the ride back my mother was pregnant with my sister. This gave my father all of the excuses in the world to never travel again, at least that’s the running joke with the family. I would like to be able to get paid to fly though, I think that would be pretty cool. There are so many places that I’d like to go, listing them all would take forever. I can say that I’m 5 states in to seeing all 50 states. I’d love to go to Italy and Ireland, maybe even swing through Germany and Poland as well. That will at least cover my ethnic background. I’d also love to see Asia, Canada, South America and basically every other continent and country I can gain access to. That could be a pretty costly trip, even with Bill Gates’ money that would take a chunk out of your bank account.
A perk to being a flight attendant, as read on the flight attendant blog, you get to meet new and interesting people on almost every flight. To me that would seem like sitting in a doctors office. All kinds of people travel and just locating yourself in one area of the world makes it close to impossible to see it all. I’m someone who likes to observe just about everything, so getting involved in a career where the situation changes in almost every aspect, every day, seems to be an awesome experience.
