I Know I have been completely MIA, but I am back and ready to blog my little heart out!!!

I have had a lot happen since the last time I was here. My son E just turned 3 a few weeks ago, and I now have a second beautiful son L who will be 6 months on the 18th. Boy do they keep me busy! Lately I have been dealing with a lot of screaming and kicking and throwing and big attitude from my 3yr old. I tried my hardest to figure out if this was simply a stage or if it was from lack of socialization with other children or my lack of parenting know-how. Well I put him into a few different classes and programs and there was absolutely no change, and he most certainly did not learn anything that they claimed to be teaching (i.e. colors, ABC’s, numbers).

So after plenty of research and lots and lots and LOTS of consideration, I have decided to homeschool. I know what you are thinking; and, NO this is not forever, my school district does not offer preschool or pre-K, so as soon as kindergarten starts he will most definitely be in public school. Now that I have made this decision here is what I have found, I happen to be a fan of many, but when it came to this subject I found a wonderful resource thru Ree Drummin aka The Pioneer Woman. She did all the research for me, and we love it when that happens.

I will let everyone know how it goes, I have ordered my lesson plans and he will start “classes” in September 🙂
Here is the curriculum I will be working with: Oak Meaadow

As for my little one, I am really enjoying him. My boys are so opposite, sometimes I don’t know where the heck they came from, hahaha. My E was a ham from the start, always playful and very much a self-starter and go getter. He was one of those babies that climbed furniture and walls instead of learning to crawl, and then just went straight to walking/running (he is still running). My L was very serious from the second he popped out of my womb. Don’t get me wrong, he is very happy and giggly, but he is by no means a ham. He likes to take his time with EVERYTHING, so much so that I was starting to get nervous about his milestones. I am a firm believer that every child has their own rhythm and timing, but after E was so quick and eager it made me a little nervous. Then I just came to understand that this little guy has his own agenda. He loves the bouncy saucer and teeth chewing toys, E hated both. He loves a blanky, E could care less. They are just different kids, and that is quite alright with me. But I really get to enjoy it all over again because they are so different, it is almost like my first born all over again and it’s fun.

It is very different this time as well, since I am now completely a full time….dun dun DUUNNN….stay at home mom (SAHM). I have been blessed with my business (Rodan + Fields) that I began back when this blog started, and has now enabled me to be home to enjoy all those cherished memories of the boys first hand. Don’t let this fool you, I am in general very happy being at home and working from home, but be warned I will be placing major complaints against my children, the dogs, the dishes and the laundry all over this blog!!

On that note welcome back, hope you all decide to stay and read about my ridiculous journey called life.
