Poor Thing

For the past week I’ve been treating a double ear infection with Bella.  The right ear seems to be healing pretty well but unfortunately the left ear isn’t making any progress.  The progress it IS making, is on the line of getting worse.  I don’t know why the medication is working in one ear and not the other but I really wish that I could figure something out.  There are two different kinds of medication to choose from, the one the doctor prescribed for her, and the one that was prescribed for another dog in the house.  At this point,…more»

I need to get myself out of this hole…

I’ve found a few new programs that will hopefully help me out of my financial hole. I have no choice but to pay my loan back because it’s not only going to effect my credit if I miss a payment, but it’s going to effect my father’s as well since he co-signed for me. At the same time I can’t afford the monthly payments because of a major lack of income right now. I’m working on it to the best of my abilities but I don’t know how long that’s going to last without finally being accepted to any of…more»

Productive Day

I’ve been pretty busy today.  I woke up and vacuumed in anticipation for house guests tonight, I found out that it’s been delayed an extra day so either way everything is nice and clean.  I floated around the house throwing out all of the garbage and straightening up.  I made dinner for Sean and I, I managed to get the yard straightened up a bit so I can head out there this weekend and get started on the Spring cleaning.  The shed we have was on the wrong side of the house so we moved it over to the other…more»

Maybe I do need Debt Counseling

With a personal loan, credit cards, and more out-going bills than incoming cash, it’s no surprise that I’ve been looking into debt counseling. I understand that I need X amount of money during the month in order to break even. However, there are a few factors that I just don’t understand. My big thing is figuring out interest rates. I’m really unsure as to why I’m paying back $3500 on a $8,000 loan when it’s only a 9% interest rate. I would like to consolidate but I’m not sure if they’ll even allow me to do it. If I could…more»

Frustrating

Getting this template up and running is proving to be quite difficult.  There are a lot of things that I need to configure and it’s taking much longer than I’d originally anticipated.  Right now I’ve got the TV on in the background to drown out the noise of Princess and Bella snoring their heads off.  Even then I’m having trouble concentrating.  I really need to figure out where my iPod is, the last time I saw it, it was in one of my purses.  I’m unsure of where it’s gone since then, I’m sure when I get into the mood…more»

Marketing Strategies

I got pretty lucky today. As you know I’m looking to promote my business with something a little more unique than handing out business cards to anyone who’ll take them. I found a company called Gimmees.com, they specialize in Business Promotional Items. You can pick up anything you could possibly imagine to publicize your business and it’s not going to cost you thousands of dollars in bill-board advertising either. I was able to poke through everything from Apparel to Travel Accessories. I focused more on notepads and pens because that really does make the difference. Everyone can use a pen,…more»

Hopefully soon.

I’m waiting for UPS to get here. Sean’s aunt ordered a computer this past weekend and to save on shipping and taxes she had it sent down here. She’ll be here tomorrow evening anyway so it kind of made sense to do it that way anyway. I was a bit surprised by the purchase, she ordered it from Costco and was able to pick up a 17″ HP Laptop for $599. When you factor in your Costco membership, the two-day only sale and other key factors, you have to admit that it was a bit of a steal. For me,…more»

A rise in answering services

A design company that I used to work for is now depending upon Answering Services so they can outsource their support staff. The issue I have is the loss of a job but at the same time, I can understand their reasoning behind this. If you’re only paid for a 9-5, naturally after 5 rolls around SOMEONE needs to be able to answer the phone and up until recently they were dealing with phone calls at 2am to their personal cellphones. They being Administration. So the best option is to consider looking into an Answering Service that automatically picks up…more»

Just getting started…

I’m really behind today but that’s based on how late I went to sleep last night (about 5am).  I woke up around 1:30 and while I would typically take a shower as soon as I get up, I was just too cold this afternoon to get around to it.  During the week I have a block of shows that I watch and then around 5 I can get back around to the real-life end of things.  So right now I’m almost 2 hours into the shows, and I’ve gotten a lot of work done as well.  I multi-task with the…more»

Advertising Methods

I’ve been looking into numerous different ways to get my name out there for more business. Sure, I can drop off a stack of business cards at the supermarkets but who honestly pays attention to them? I need something with a bit more – creativity. I’ve noticed a trend in people paying more attention to large Signs instead of the small little cards. Maybe it looks like you can afford to put more into your business, maybe it’s that the population is slowly losing their eye-sight and small cards just aren’t seen. Either way there’s a big rise in car…more»
