How drunk do you have to be?

When you live in New York your entire life, moving to the country life of Delaware truly is a bit of shell shock to anyone.  While I moved down here for personal reasons, my heart is still in New York on many occasions.  So in wanting to get in touch with the local yokels and figure out just how they think, I realized that not being an alcoholic doesn’t benefit me down here.  They’ve invented something called Punkin Chunkin, they hold it every year and it’s my proof that you need to be completely snot faced in order to appreciate…more»

Save Buckets!

With the move to Ohio coming closer and closer for us, I’ve been doing a lot of comparison shopping on numerous sites.  The one I’ve been floating around for the last few days now is savebuckets.co.uk, you can compare pricing on everything from mp3 players to household items, even pet related items as well.  I do a lot of shopping in the electronics sections though.  As far as everything house-based is concerned, I know what I need and I know where I’m going to get it.  My big focus these days is figuring out what television to buy, and where…more»

California?

I’m flipping through channels at the moment, finding something on TV at night is a difficult task at times.  The running theme is advertisements for California.  Now, I don’t know if they’re losing money in Hollywood but they’re really trying to increase tourism for some reason.  I haven’t been out there since I was about a year old, and I don’t know if I’ll ever make it out there again. I do know that Sean is currently programming a social networking site for a man out there, he’s itching to get us out there to visit.  I’m sure we will…more»

It’s unfortunate…

I recently received a message on myspace from an old high school friend of mine.  She went through the whole “How have you been?” routine, letting me know that she had some important news for me and felt bad that she had to get back in touch with me this way.  She then went on to say that a mutual friend of ours from high school has passed away due to a drug overdose.  She apologized for losing touch and coming out of the blue with information like this but she also wanted to make sure that she told me…more»

Consumer Reviews – Not Helping Me!

I’m doing some poking around BestBuy.com in search for reviews on a few different televisions that Sean and I are interested in.  We know for sure that we’d like an LCD HDTV in the living room, I’ve settled upon a 32″ knowing that it’ll be more than large enough for the two of us considering the largest TV in the house at the moment is a 27″ but since that’s in the office I hardly ever get to watch it.  I have a 20″ for the bedroom and that’s staying where it is, more than likely getting one just like…more»

Interested in working from home?

I’m not sure if many people would agree, but if you’re anything like me – you enjoy working from home. The idea of earning money without having to get out of your PJ’s, the way many celebrities seem to do it, is a good feeling. Now, I’m not saying that you have to quit your job and try this but if you’ve been considering it then I’ll tell you that it takes a lot of hard work and even more dedication than it would if you were in an actual office setting. Many people think that working from home means…more»

Flipping

I’ve been doing some flipping through this months issue of Laptop Mag and I came across an article called “How to Manage Your To-Do List Digitally”.  I’ve always been a fan of post-it notes but that’s based on the fact that I’m an organizational freak. The one that stood out the most for me is the Outlook 2007 To-Do Bar.  It’s $109 at Staples. Their review is as follows: What We Like – We love that Outlook 2007  displays your to-do list and upcoming events alongside your mailbox, an ingenious consideration for people likely to receive invitations and assignments via…more»

Business Christmas Cards

Even though Halloween hasn’t even hit yet, stores around the area are already overloading the shelves with Christmas related items. Everything from big blow-up lawn ornaments to decorations in general, there isn’t a corner that you can turn in Walmart that has anything Halloween related except for one small isle in the store. I find this to be a bit absurd but everyone seems to just hop right over the ‘small’ holidays and go straight to the money maker that is Christmas. It’s unfortunate from a personal standpoint considering I enjoy the “small” holidays much more than the large ones,…more»

Moving forward

I picked up the loan on Monday.  It was quite a birthday gift to see that many zero’s on a check with my name on it.  We drove back to DE last night and deposited the check this morning.  It should be cleared by tomorrow and hopefully by this weekend we’ll be on our way to Ohio.  By next weekend I hope that we’ll be home owners and just packing up to get out of here. I have a lot of shopping to do once things get rolling, thankfully I have a few gift cards that I can use to…more»

Home Improvements

I may be doing a little too much planning ahead on this home ownership deal but is it really so wrong that I’d like to have everything I’m looking for in a home? I do have to live there, so it’s not like I’m going to live someplace that I absolutely hate, you know? So I’ve been poking around the Internet for a few design ideas, everything from furniture to garage conversions and windows for that matter.  I came across Anglian Homes, which seems like a great resource for all Home improvements, so I floated around a little.  The company…more»
