Emptiness

My laptop feels a bit empty.  I reinstalled Windows last week and still haven’t gotten around to installing any of my programs back to it.  I need to put Dreamweaver back on here so I can get back to work on some websites, and I also need to install Thunderbird and link it to my external hard drive so I don’t have to keep logging in via Browser anymore.  The only programs on here are Firefox and AIM, plus virus and spyware protection.  For now it’s really all I need, but when I head up to NY this weekend I’m…more»

Show me some sun!

I’ve been dreaming about going on an exotic vacation for many years now. A few times, the option of going to the Caribbean Islands has come up. My aunt has spent quite a bit of time in Aruba, and I don’t know of a single family member (other than my sister and I) who haven’t been to the Bahamas on more than one occasion. This evening I came across caribbean-guide.info. I spent some time floating around the Aruba section because that’s probably the one place that’s interested me for quite some time now. With this site you can learn about…more»

Road Trip!

This Friday, Sean and I are taking a trip up to New York so that I can visit my father and get to the bank to hopefully pick up my loan.  I’m unsure of what paperwork I’m going to need to bring with me, I know that previous tax statements are required but I don’t have them at the moment so this should be interesting.  I figure if I can get away with bringing my Paypal statements in for the past six months that it will make it easier on me.  If not, I think I’m going to be screwed. …more»

GoGoShopper!

I can honestly say that I don’t know one person that goes shopping without looking for the best deals. Those who shop online go through many coupon related websites because discounted prices are a great thing to come by. I’ve gone through about thirty different websites and I only really go back to the same two because they’re the most updated. I’ve come across a few where you can get Jewelry Television coupons, for example, but the coupons are dated back to 2006 and long since have expired. This is why I like sites like GoGoShopper.com because you can get…more»

Local or National?

I’ve spent the last few hours looking into many different options regarding an internet service once we move.  There’s a local service that has a triple-play option with TV/Internet/Phone for approximately $130 a month.  The thing is, I’m not overly fond of a VoIP system based on the fact that I like to have a LAN line in the house in case of an emergency.  Living in a blizzard heavy state is something I consider an emergency, honestly.  So I’ve been looking into Verizon because they also offer a triple-play option but I know that the phone service isn’t VoIP…more»

What happened to Halloween?

Sean and I tend to look into everything with a bit of overkill. We’re unsure of whether or not we’ll be settled in by Halloween so with that in mind we’re already planning for Christmas. For many years I’ve been accustomed to a large tree filled with beautiful twinkling lights, heaps of ornaments and surrounded by any possible Christmas decoration there is. I personally prefer a large green tree with multi-colored lights, the more traditional approach. Sean’s mother likes white trees with white lights, which I personally find gaudy, but if that’s her personal taste – then so be it.…more»

Travel and Remote Access

Over the course of the next few weeks, Sean and I are going to be doing quite a bit of driving. First is a five hour trip north to my fathers house on Long Island, we’ll be there for a few days while I’m finalizing all of the loan-based information and visiting with family. Another five hour drive back to here so we can begin packing up our things. By the following weekend we’ll be on our way to Ohio to make the purchase, do some cleaning up because the house has been there for six months untouched and is…more»

Point of Sale

I don’t know of one business anywhere in the world that isn’t using some form of a computer in order to help maintain their business. Machines have leaped into the technological age and there isn’t one on the market that doesn’t have some kind of a computer back-end. Even the registers at your local supermarket are equipped with an LCD monitor and cool images that show up on the screens during all aspects of the sale. So naturally it’s no surprise to know that there are other companies out there with refurbished products available to businesses and corporations around the…more»
