I sat down and looked…

… at everything that required being packed up when we move and you truly do not realize how many things you’ve accumulated over the years until you have to put it in boxes. I know from the get-go that the bedroom will be very easy to pack up because there’s really nothing in there. The office, however, that’s a completely different story. I believe it will take at least a day just to get all of the books and everything put away. The computers will obviously be the last thing to go, but that’s because we’ll be working right up…more»

VoIP for Small Business

For a while now I’ve been considering a Virtual office setup in order to get rid of my cell phone. Since I work in-house, it’s really the only form of outside communication I can have at the moment. I also figure that it’ll help me down the road after Hubby and I move to Ohio. I can keep the same phone number because all you really need is a broadband connection, and I did some poking around many different companies and I have to say that iPBX is looking to be a pretty decent service at this point. I think…more»

Too busy to think…

I don’t know what came over me over the course of the last few days but on top of the fact that I had absolutely no energy to do much of anything, I was also very busy, more than I think I ever have been in the past. Sean and I found the absolute perfect house, it’s in the $120k range, which isn’t too bad because the mortgage is only going to run us about $1,000 a month. From there I figure all of the other bills are another $1,000 (estimated) so since we make about $4k a month, we…more»

Structured Settlements

For many years my Grandmother battled many issues with her legs. Primarily her ankles. When she was growing up there weren’t any control-top kind of sneakers and based on this lack of support, she got to the point where her foot was basically dangling off her ankle because that particular bone was on the floor in place of her natural arch. This means nothing but pain for anyone who has to deal with it, and even now all they can offer you is orthodics. She went in for surgery to try to have the bones reset to where they were…more»

Difficulties

Sean and I are having trouble deciding where we intend to move. We know for sure that wherever we wind up, we’re going to not only own the home but the land itself. For a while we’ve been looking into modular communities in the area, but I don’t believe spending $120,000 on a house and then spending about $1500 a month in bills, $500 of which is LOT RENT, would really be worth it considering renting the land means that the house will depreciate in value over the course of six months at the rate of real estate in the…more»

Free Self Improvement Test

I was putzing around on PPP and I came across a listing for a self improvement test. Being interested in almost everything I read, I found myself loading the link and taking the test. There were a few basic questions, mainly from the first person and second person point of views. How do I perceive myself, how do others perceive me. The questions you would typically see on a test like this. I didn’t have to write any big answers down, it was filling out bubbles from the 1-7 range. 1 is a strong disagree, 4 is a neutral and…more»

Altech Lansing T515

Desktop speakers have begun to infiltrate this Bluetooth market, with products from LG and Nokia competing with the likes of Altec Lansing’s T515 for streaming your tunes from your phone to speakers.  Each has a hook of some sort, but none is so dramatic as Altec Landsing’s wireless pendant and ear buds disguised as a hidden remote.  Unfortunately, this doesn’t make the unit as useful for phone calls as it is for music. To use the headset, you’ll have to insert a set of earbuds to attach the pendant to your shirt.  Then you’re limited by a relatively short connection…more»

Hopefully we’ll get somewhere SOON

Hubby and I are really beginning to push for the loan, so much so that he’s now working on taking one out in his name in hopes to bring in some more money so we can get the hell out of here. We’re just finished with this house, and having our own is the only real option right now. He’s been looking into everywhere from Salisbury, MD to North Lima, OH. We’ve even considered Vermont and Pennsylvania. Either way there’s an estimated $150,000 to spend and we have absolutely no idea where it’s going. Our rush is based on the…more»

iLuv i199

The i199 looks a lot like many other iPod docks on the market.   That is, it’s about the size of a shoebox and features a small cradle on the top side to hold an iPod.  But near the iPod cradle is a spot to plug in a tiny BluePin module, which adds Bluetooth functionality.  With the module in place, you can stream music from a phone to the i199’s speakers or trasmit sound from the unit to a wireless headset.  Though the Bluetooth function isn’t built in, exactly, pairing was painless, and the sound was excellent. The device also features…more»

Router Bits

I found a cool resource that any arts and crafts lover would enjoy. From router bits to router tables, they offer the tools that you need to complete your arts and craft projects. It isn’t just arts and crafts though, I showed Sean and he was excited to see it as he’s been looking for a good reliable wood router for some project that he’s doing. Sean doesn’t normally do little arts and crafts projects, so I am assuming that whatever he has planned, is going to be big. I know he’s been talking about Halloween a lot lately, and…more»
