Yahoo! Clues Search Trends

Yahoo! has released a new Web based tool which offers an interesting and visually appealing way to explore search trends. Yahoo! Clues provides a way to discover and compare trending information. What makes Clues so interesting is that it provides not just search volume charts, but demographic graphs, maps and even related searches to a demographic group. It makes Google Trends look like an elementary-level Excel spreadsheet in comparison. Noteworthy features include the ability to compare two terms, a time filter (only for the past one, seven and 30 days) and of course the information categories which delve into gender,…more»

Senate Votes on Domain Seizure Law

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, led by Vermont Senator Pat Leahy, today unanimously approved legislation that would provide the U.S. Justice Department with enhanced powers to block domain names and third-party enablers (including internet service providers, payment processors and online ad networks) of web sites that it believes are dedicated to the piracy of intellectual property. Under the bill, according to Howard Neu, the company that sold the domain name registration to the website could even be forced to revoke the domain name of the site if it is being used for copyright infringement or counterfeiting. Free speech issues aside,…more»

Stupid Fishing

Supposedly I had a few outdated scripts running on this domain that some fishing software took over and we were demanded to shut it down. So what do you do in a situation like this?  Upgrade everything that you’re actually still using and DELETE everything else. HAHAH!

Still alive … I swear!

So I’ve been floating around the internet for the past couple of days and I’ve decided that if I can get myself on a set schedule I can figure out a way to add some blogging into my day so I can at least make it seem as though I own the websites that I’m still actively paying for.  I did come across a few templates that I’m interested in using, I really have no drive to create something from scratch but I could always recreate something I did in the past.  I did really like the CNN style template…more»

Getting there…

I renewed this domain, even though I hardly use it the $9 a year to maintain it s fine by me. I couldn’t give up this domain no matter how much I really thought about it. There have been domains that I’ve lost interest in completely and just let it die – I can’t bring myself to do that here. I still haven’t started on the new template for this site so I’m going to ask something of any visitor that’s still floating around… If you happen to come across a free theme that blends well with the technology/business kind…more»

Where are you?

OK… so I haven’t kept up with things the way I’ve intended to but that’s due to the fact that lately I’m working six days a week and I’m just too tired to blog.  I have a lot of plans for this site, I just haven’t gotten around to doing them yet.  I haven’t read up on any new technology, I don’t have any ideas for new business techniques and I haven’t got the time to really sit down and write either.  I randomly jot a few ideas down but unfortunately that paperwork gets lost with the stacks of everything…more»

Awesome!

So I got pretty lucky.  I was able to figure out what was wrong with the old installation of WordPress.  I exported the posts and categories and now I’ve moved everything over to a new fresh installation and everything appears to be working just fine now.  I’m still going to have to work on a few things.  I have absolutely no new articles to write up.  I don’t currently have a theme setup either, and I’m going to have to do everything I get the plugins back up and running.  Either way I imagine it’ll take me a while to…more»

Downtime

I know I haven’t really done a lot of posting here, and that’s mainly because I’ve just been too busy with work.  As I’ve noted numerous times before – it truly is my ultimate goal to get this site back up and running.  So I’ve been working with a few things, there have been some bumps in the road, and unfortunately there are other things going on right now that need to take the priority while this goes on the back burner.  I haven’t forgotten about anything and I’ve tried very hard to note abandon anything either.  Hopefully in the…more»
