For the past week I’ve been treating a double ear infection with Bella.  The right ear seems to be healing pretty well but unfortunately the left ear isn’t making any progress.  The progress it IS making, is on the line of getting worse.  I don’t know why the medication is working in one ear and not the other but I really wish that I could figure something out.  There are two different kinds of medication to choose from, the one the doctor prescribed for her, and the one that was prescribed for another dog in the house.  At this point,…more»

I’ve finally remembered to call the phone number that’s been stuck to my screen for the last two weeks.  Bella’s been in desperate need for a grooming for a little while now and tomorrow I need to be out of the house by 9am so that I can get that taken care of.  I’m getting her shaved down, I would typically save her hair considering how cold it is outside but she’s matted down in a few spots and I think just shaving her down would be the best route to take.  I do have a jacket for her so…more»

It’s unfortunate but we’re soon going to have to put Candy down because she hasn’t been doing very well lately. She’s about 16 years-old and she’s been on numerous medications, the most recent one for her heart which is about 3 times larger than it should be and has some fluid behind it, we’re unsure if it’s fluid in the lungs or around the heart. I woke up today to quite a bit of screaming. Karen was having some trouble with the dogs this morning and considering everyone’s been a bit on edge lately I think she’s close to her breaking point considering Candy’s current health. Princess doesn’t help the situation very much either, she’s a stubborn little dog who thinks she’s capable of accomplishing just about everything and considering the fact that Candy isn’t doing too well, Princess will still knock her over trying to get to the bedroom if Karen is heading in there with food for Candy. For the past year, Sean has been working on a social networking site. They’re hoping to launch sometime within the next few weeks (of course I’ll share the URL here when that happens). It’s their hope that the site gets pretty big and once that happens I’m sure that we’ll be taking a few trips out to California because that’s where his boss currently lives. A few moments ago a man showed up at the door offering all sorts of frozen meat that was supposed to be shipped to a restaurant that is closed for the day.  So in order to cut his losses he’s offering the meat at a low-cost price with a lot of different varieties included.  Everything from Fillet Mignon to pork and chicken products.  Now, Sean being the push-over that he is made a V-Line for his wallet so he could purchase these products.  Karen, being the level-headed one told the man to basically get the hell out of here. The weather changes are taking their toll on me, this afternoon I was sweating my ass off and now I’m freezing since the sun went down.  I think it’s like 50°F outside right now, it’s only going to get colder.  I should probably just soak in a nice warm bath and then enjoy a cup of tea and get started on my new books. While it’s still rather warm in the house, there’s this wonderfully cool breeze coming through the windows behind me.  I’ve got myself setup on the couch because I’ve grown sick of keeping myself locked in the bedroom all day.  With the weather cooling down, having only one window in the room that’s currently being blocked up with an Air Conditioner, it’s kind of hard to enjoy the nice weather.  So I’ve wandered out to the living room where I’m currently enjoying six wide open windows all very active with a nice breeze that has yet to lift over the course…more»

I just got back from the Vet a few moments ago, I’m annoyed because I missed “House” tonight. I’m sure I’ll be able to find it online somewhere so I can download it but that doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. I like watching things the same time everyone else does because when you get on the forums afterwards you have an idea on what’s going on. I’m marking off the days until I head back up to New York to visit the family. At this point in time, Christmas seems to be the only time I’ll be able to get up there. I don’t want to wait that long but when you’re as busy as I am, you really can’t afford to take a week off without things going haywire!
