A few days ago I spoke about many different routes that one can take with advertising for their business. I listed the free and inexpensive ways of going about this, but up until today didn’t even think about this next set of options.

Advertising is a major part of running an Internet business. You need to figure out a way to connect consumers with your product, and in some cases don’t wish to spend millions of dollars on commercials during the superbowl. Now, naturally word of mouth will get someone very far but just for that extra ump, I’ve put together a few inexpensive and free advertising ideas for you.
I came across a resource for business owners that I found rather interesting.
Women spend billions of dollars a year on make-up, clothing, personal care and accessories so naturally anyone looking to make some money would consider starting up a business that’s related to women’s needs. Say you’re an Avon seller, or Tupperware for that matter – women flock to these products so instead of going door-to-door you can easily tap into the wonderful world of the Internet and make some serious cash, without much effort.
Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to keep a business up above water is to sell parts of it to other companies or merge with a more well established company in the same business looking to bring in new products, fresh faces and/or just take over your business in general and run it their own way. A big example would be Google, they own more than 50% of the search engines on the internet, at this point. They bought out the rest and are now enjoying the benefits.
A running trend with businesses these days is outsourcing their support staff to other countries. While this cuts back on the payroll it also causes many consumers to be unhappy with the company at hand, considering you’re unable to understand the person claiming to be Emily or Scott on the other end of the line.
It’s unfortunate that some owners need to get to the point of listing their business for sale in order to get themselves back above the water. But it’s interesting to me when a larger company buys up all of the smaller companies to make one large super power of a company in the process.
If you’re like me, you’ve been on quite a few business lunches with clients and on one or more occasion you’ve forgotten an important file or two that has caused you to either lose the client or delay moving ahead with work. I’ve unfortunately lost one client to missing data and it was heart wrenching.
It’s important to make sure that no matter what happens in the world around you that you can still continue to keep your business up and running without any major changes. In a natural disaster, for example, equipment and office space can easily be lost in a flash flood or tornado. There are companies out there whom offer you the ability to regain not only your lost computers but some will even provide you with office space.
Instead of Bangalore, could it be Nairobi that banking customers from rich countries talk to next year?
