Late Starts

For the past few days I’ve found myself going to bed later and waking up much later than I ever have in the past.  It’s now a little after 2:30 pm and I’m just starting my day after waking up a half hour ago.  I hate being on this schedule.  I go to sleep every night with a headache because the bulk of my work is done with just a side lamp next to me.  I don’t ever have any eye headache problems when I work straight through the day.  In about 3 hours the sun is going to set…more»

Infections aren’t fun.

I just got back from the Vet a few moments ago, I’m annoyed because I missed “House” tonight. I’m sure I’ll be able to find it online somewhere so I can download it but that doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. I like watching things the same time everyone else does because when you get on the forums afterwards you have an idea on what’s going on. When we first showed up we noticed that there was a bit of a line, after a few moments we realized that we were going to be there for quite some time. There…more»

Busy, Busy, Busy

It’s a few minutes to 3:30 am and I wonder why I’m even still awake at this point.  I have the TV on in the background and the dog laying across my lap.  She has an ear infection so she’s been kind of cuddly.  I’m going to have to take a trip to the vet sometime tomorrow so I can get her some medication for her ears.  There’s the option of going to the local clinic which is crawling with bugs or I can wake myself up early enough to schedule an appointment at the more pricey vet in the…more»

Almost Too Patient…

I’m very patiently waiting for the mail to show up.  I’m hoping to get my letter from HSBC so I can start going through all of my paperwork trying to figure out what I’m going to need in order to sign for my loan.  Sean and I are really anticipating getting out to Ohio next week so we can buy our house, start any renovations that need to be done and then heading back out here so we can pack up our things and go.  Knowing that the home has been there for a while, and that there were a…more»

Road Trip!

This Friday, Sean and I are taking a trip up to New York so that I can visit my father and get to the bank to hopefully pick up my loan.  I’m unsure of what paperwork I’m going to need to bring with me, I know that previous tax statements are required but I don’t have them at the moment so this should be interesting.  I figure if I can get away with bringing my Paypal statements in for the past six months that it will make it easier on me.  If not, I think I’m going to be screwed. …more»

Local or National?

I’ve spent the last few hours looking into many different options regarding an internet service once we move.  There’s a local service that has a triple-play option with TV/Internet/Phone for approximately $130 a month.  The thing is, I’m not overly fond of a VoIP system based on the fact that I like to have a LAN line in the house in case of an emergency.  Living in a blizzard heavy state is something I consider an emergency, honestly.  So I’ve been looking into Verizon because they also offer a triple-play option but I know that the phone service isn’t VoIP…more»

Travel and Remote Access

Over the course of the next few weeks, Sean and I are going to be doing quite a bit of driving. First is a five hour trip north to my fathers house on Long Island, we’ll be there for a few days while I’m finalizing all of the loan-based information and visiting with family. Another five hour drive back to here so we can begin packing up our things. By the following weekend we’ll be on our way to Ohio to make the purchase, do some cleaning up because the house has been there for six months untouched and is…more»

Wigging Out

My eyes are starting to flake out on me.  It’s probably based on the fact that I’ve been on the computer longer in the last 24 hours than I’ve been in the last week.  I’m building up the “To Buy” list for the house, getting a lot of work completed and numerous other things as well.  I figure that the only way to really get to where I need to go is if I can manage to bring in at least $100 a day over the course of the next few weeks.  That gives me about $3,000 a month, and…more»

Rejection

We were rejected for a joint-personal loan based on the fact that we had nothing to put up as collateral.  I figured this was going to happen considering it’s a high risk loan and while we do have a fairly decent income, he hasn’t earned anything as a freelancer for the two years that many lenders require.  This is great to know for next year, but it certainly doesn’t help us out right now.  We added up the numbers tonight, it’s going to cost us around $3,000 to cover everything from the cost of moving, to first and last months…more»

Awaiting Approval

For the past few days we’ve patiently been waiting to hear from HSBC in regards to our loan. We couldn’t get the house, we didn’t put the bid in on time and it’s off the market. We found a few other options, a few of which were rentals. I’ve never been to Ohio so I can’t say that I’m going to like it there, so I believe us not getting this house was just the sign telling us to rent first. We’ve looked into a few options, his brother has a place available in his complex. We couldn’t find it…more»
